41 new cases of COVID-19 reported, mostly in Hai Duong

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam on Monday evening confirmed an additional 41 COVID-19 infections, including two in Hanoi closely linked to the Japanese patient, who died on Saturday in a hotel in Hanoi.  

The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said that as of 6pm Monday, Vietnam recorded 41 new cases of COVID-19, including  2 cases in Hanoi, 38 cases in Hai Duong, the country’s biggest hotspot, and 1 imported case.

Hai Duong province on Monday decided to impose social distancing measures in the entire locality from 0 hour on Tuesday (the 5th day of Lunar New Year holiday). 
As of Monday, Hai Duong recorded 499 cases of COVID-19. Since the epidemic broke out Chi Linh city 19 days ago, it has spread to 11 of the total 12 districts, towns and cities of Hai Duong. 55 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital.

Worldwide, more than 109 million cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded.  2.41 million people died. The US and Brazil continue to be the countries most affected by the pandemic.
