Nguyen Hue Walking Street took the limelight with exciting cavalry parade, community art performances, symphony concerts and 3D Mapping effects.

Festivities enveloped the walking street with “Southern Scarf Dance”. Hundreds of artists, students, and residents performed group dances with strong Southern colors. From Ton Duc Thang Street to Hoa Sen fountain was the venue of a ceremonial parade of the cavalry mobile police. Coming from Long An province, Ms. Bich Thuy watched the event with excitement. She said, “This is the first time I see a parade with horses and soldiers, my feelings are indescribable. Before, I did not know much about these parade activities.”

On the facade of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee building, thousands gathered to watch the 3D Mapping show recreating the development path of Ho Chi Minh City from the day of liberation to a smart city through vivid light graphics combined with modern and traditional music.

In Bach Dang Park area and along the Saigon River (from Ba Son Bridge to Nha Rong Wharf), there were fun street performances. Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, was among the spectators. “Here, I feel that everyone is ecstatic. I am happy because I am living in a peaceful country. I am so grateful to the previous generations who sacrificed so that we can have an independent day like today. Coming here, I really feel that this is very precious. I am very proud of the city I am living in because everyone from all over the country is here,” Thuy said. 

From 9 p.m. the jubilant crowds celebrated 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification with a fantastic 15-minute fireworks display.
