512 billion USD is the first economic stimulus package which Asian Development Bank (ADB) plans for Myanmar after 30 year being interrupted. The package aims to help Myanmar to pay off debts, improve investment climate, and boost small and medium sized enterprises (SME) development. ADB Vice Chairman Stephen Groff who takes charge of East Asia, Southeast Asia and Pacific Ocean hailed this as a historic milestone for Myanmar. The first stimulus package of ADB will focus on transportation, irrigation, energy, and education projects inline with Myanmar’s reform.
