Aeon donates 50,000 USD to typhoon-hit communities in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Japanese retail giant Aeon and the Aeon 1% Club Foundation have donated 50,000 USD to support Vietnamese communities affected by recent devastating storms.

“Natural disasters have caused severe loss of life and property in Vietnam. As a company operating in the country, we want to do our part to help the victims overcome the aftermath and rebuild their lives as soon as possible,” Watanabe Hiroyuki, Chairman of the Aeon 1% Club Foundation said at a ceremony to hand over the donation to the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on Friday.

Established in 1989 as part of the Aeon Group, the foundation is funded by member companies contributing 1% of their pre-tax profits to initiatives in environmental protection, international cultural exchange, human resource development, and community engagement. In Vietnam, it has carried out a range of impactful projects in education and environmental protection.
