Participants played games and enjoyed traditional dishes. In an interview with VOV’s correspondent in Prague, Ambassador Tuan said Vietnam hosted the event to spread a meaningful message. “We believe that ASEAN Family Day 2019 conveys Vietnam’s eagerness to assume the ASEAN Chair in 2020 with enthusiasm and professionalism. We want our friends in the Czech Republic and the ASEAN Committee in Prague to understand that we see ASEAN as a united family.”

The ASEAN Committee in Prague was established in 2013 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam to promote ASEAN’s role as a partner of the Czech Republic in politics, economy, and culture. The committee welcomed Myanmar as its 6th member after Myanmar reopened its embassy in June.
