Australia provides AUD 150 million of ODA for Vietnam

(VOVworld) – The Australian government will provide around 150 million Australian dollars of ODA to Vietnam over 2012 – 2013.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Australia’s ambassador to Vietnam, Allaster Cox said that Australia is committed to helping Vietnam upgrade its basic infrastructure including clean water supplies and roads. The aid program will focus on the 5 priority areas: developing human resources, infrastructure, dealing with the impacts of climate change, improving public health and economic reforms. Next year, Australia will provide 245 scholarships to Vietnam to improve students’ skills and contribute to the country’s development.
