(VOV)-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina begins an official three-day visit to Vietnam today/ on Friday at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. 

Bangladeshi Prime Minister visits Vietnam

The visit aims to further strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Bangladesh. Vietnam and Bangladesh signed an agreement to establish a joint committee for economic, trade, cultural and scientific and technological cooperation in 1997. They plan to hold the second session of the committee this year. Bilateral relations have developed considerably since the two countries established diplomatic ties on February 11, 1973. Former Vietnamese Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet paid a visit to Bangladesh in 1997 and former state President Tran Duc Luong visited this country in 2004.
