(VOVworld) -  Authorized by the President, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang visited the family of Tran Huu Hiep on Sunday and awarded the President’s Order of Bravery and a medal for the development of Transport.

In a canoe sinking in Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh city that resulted in 9 deaths on August 2, Tran Huu Hiep sacrificed his own life to save others including a pregnant woman. For his courage, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has posthumously presented a “Brave Youth Badge” and Vietnam Red Cross Society has awarded a medal “for the cause of the Vietnam Red Cross” to Tran Huu Hiep.
