At a high-level forum on Friday in Hanoi themed “Building a Self-Reliant and Strong Vietnamese Industry”, delegates noted that amid the sweeping restructuring of global supply chains, Vietnam faces a pivotal opportunity to assert its position on the international industrial map and pursue the goal of building a self-reliant, modern, and globally competitive industrial sector.
Nguyen Quan, former Minister of Science and Technology and President of the Vietnam Automation Association, said: "To become an industrialized nation, Vietnam must establish manufacturing conglomerates that serve as key links in the global value chain for strategic technology products. It is encouraging that, following the issuance of Politburo Resolution No. 57, the Prime Minister approved a decision identifying strategic technologies and products. This provides a crucial foundation for focusing resources, investment, and targeted development in several key sectors."
Chu Thuc Dat, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center under the Ministry of Science and Technology, innovation and technology transfer will be vital solutions to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese industrial enterprises.
Dat said: “The centers are tasked with driving innovation within businesses through workforce training programs, strengthening their capacity to absorb and master technology, supporting technology transfer and upgrades, as well as providing funding from state investment funds and other financial mechanisms.”
