The road, which links Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa province and took 6 years to complete, was built under public-private partnership.

“The Ca Pass road tunnel on the North-South National Highway No.1 will facilitate the development of industry, services, and tourism in the central coastal region. The tunnel connects regional industrial zones and tourism hubs. It will also contribute to the security and defense of the central and Central Highlands regions,”  Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho said. 

The 13-km tunnel allows vehicles to travel at a maximum speed of 80km per hour.
