Cai Mep-Thi Vai international port inaugurated

(VOVworld) – A ceremony to inaugurate the Cai Mep-Thi Vai international port took place on Monday in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai spoke highly of the Japanese government’s assistance in capital and technology. The completion of the project is one of a series of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

The project cost nearly 650 million USD, provided by loans from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and matching funds from the Vietnamese government. When operational, the port will ease pressures on ports in Ho Chi Minh city, boosting regional socio-economic development.
