This event was an extended meeting to prepare for commune elections that are scheduled to take place on June 4th.
The CPP Central Committee adopted a resolution that reviews Cambodian achievements and CPP operations this year, sets targets for next year, and outlines preparatory measures for commune elections. The resolution says Cambodia’s political situation is increasingly stable and developing soundly, thanks to the reconciliation and cooperation of all forces in society, especially between parties with seats in the National Assembly, including the CPP and the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP). The Committee’s members expressed full support for the efforts of the Royal Government to maintain an economic growth rate of 7 percent.
