Carbon market seen as key to Vietnam’s green growth and net-zero goal
(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly deputies on Tuesday described the carbon credit market as a vital tool for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating sustainable revenue to improve people’s livelihoods.

They said the market will serve as a key driver of the green economy, contributing to Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and protecting the environment.
“It is necessary to put the national carbon exchange into operation soon to ensure transparency, enhance control over credit values, and distribute benefits directly to local communities,” said Deputy Nguyen Thi Lan Anh from Lao Cai Province.
She suggested that special attention be paid to localities with high forest coverage and technical and financial support be provided to help enterprises, especially SMEs, participate in this market.
