(VOVworld)- A variety of shows are being held across the country to celebrate the Vietnamese Music Day, September 3. The concert “Vietnamese homeland” featuring eternal songs of Vietnam was held in the Hanoi Opera House on Tuesday. Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Viet Nam Musicians Association said on September 3, 1960, President Ho Chi Minh conducted a choir and an orchestra in a performance of Solidarity Song to celebrate the 3rd Party Congress and the 15th National Day.  The Vietnamese Music Day was observed for the first time on September 3, 2010. Quan said:“This year, the Vietnamese Music Day is celebrated across the country. This event is more significant as it follows the 65th founding anniversary of the Union of Vietnamese Literature Associations and the 15-year implementation of Party resolution on enhancing arts and literature in the new period”.

Highlights of the event include a gala night at the Ha Noi Opera House, featuring works by the late composers Nguyen Dinh Thi and Van Cao, and performances on outdoor stages near Ba Kieu Temple and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Ha Noi, and public places in Ho Chi Minh City.
