China reports trade growth with Vietnam in November

(VOVWORLD) - Bilateral trade between China and Vietnam grew steadily over the past 11 months with record growth in November, according  the General Administration of Customs of China (GAC).

According to GAC data, bilateral trade from January to November reached 202 billion USD, up 3.6%, accounting for 25% of China's total trade with ASEAN. In November bilateral trade increased 12.5% to hit a one-month record of 22.6 billion USD.

The Chinese customs sector reports that since 2016 Vietnam has been China's largest trading partner in ASEAN.

In recent years, China and Vietnam have boosted cooperation in industrial and supply chain.

Over the past 11 months, trade of intermediate products between the two approached 141 billion USD, 69.8% of total bilateral trade.

There is a strong potential for closer cooperation in agricultural trade. Between January and November, China's imports of Vietnam's farm produce totaled 6.2 billion USD, up 20.3%.
