China-Vietnam Youth Gala cements bilateral ties

(VOVworld) – The 2nd China-Vietnam Youth Gala opened on Tuesday as an occasion to recall traditional friendship and enliven the relations between the two countries’ youngsters for a flourishing relationship between the two parties and peoples. The event was attended by Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee President Nguyen Thien Nhan, Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao, and 10,000 youngsters.

Nhan said: "As the future of their nations, if youths from Vietnam and China promote mutual understanding and unity, they will sustain positive developments and make socialist building a success in both nations. I believe that this festival offers an opportunity to better understand and enliven sentiments toward one other. Communist youth unions from both countries should continue their practical cooperation to foster the traditional friendship between both nation’s young generations."


Li spoke highly of the gala, expressing his hope that youngsters will be consistent in the age-old friendship and join hands in creating a bright future for the socialist cause in both countries.

Liu Xue Hua, a student from Nanning city, attended the event for the first time. She said: "Vietnamese friends are very enthusiastic and open. I think this festival contributes significantly to the growing friendship between the youth at the two nations."


During the festival in China's Guangxi province, Vietnamese youngsters joined in activities such as art performances, tree planting, painting, calligraphy, and visiting Chinese people.

Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinjing on this occasion sent congratulatory letters to the young participants. Both leaders considered this gala an important event which delivers a call to both nations’ youths to work together for each country’s revolutionary cause. They placed their strong faith in the young generation to tighten Vietnam-China relations.
