China’s People’s Daily ran a front-page story on talks between Prime Minister Phuc and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, in which the two leaders agreed that pursuing the leadership of their Communist Party and Socialist Republic is the biggest common strategic interest of the two countries, whose bilateral ties are growing. Xi said he hopes China and Vietnam will promote their close coordination, high-level contacts, and people-to-people exchanges to boost their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new height.

The Xinhua news agency closely followed Prime Minister Phuc’s activities in China. It said Mr. Phuc and Chinese leaders reached common perceptions on important issues. The Prime Minister’s visit will broaden cooperation and accelerate socio-economic development strategies and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides frankly talked about their differences, China Radio International (CRI) reported. Premier Li said the East Sea disputes are related to the interests and sentiments of the two countries, which requires joint efforts and compliance with existing agreements to settle and ensure regional maritime stability.
