Chinese President hold talks with French, German leaders

(VOVworld) - China always considers France an important strategic partner, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday in talks with French President Francois Hollande after a two-day G20 summit in the eastern city of Hangzhou, China. President Xi added that China is willing to work with France to deepen cooperation in various areas, boost people-to-people exchanges, and enahnce coordination in international affairs.

Holland said France always treasures its relations with China and is willing to promote cooperation with China in agriculture, nuclear power, tourism, environment, and international issues.

In an earlier meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Xi pledged China’s close contacts and cooperation with Germany for a successful G20 summit next year in Hamburg. China and Germany have established a comprehensive strategic partnership. Merkel said Germany is ready for high-ranking exchanges and cooperation in economics, trade, investment, and culture. She promised to work for closer European-Chinese relations.
