(VOVworld) – The Steering Committee for the Southwestern region and Soc Trang province co-organized a meeting for 200 representatives from the Khmer ethnic group on Monday.

Head of the Institute of Vietnamese Records, Professor Doctor Nguyen Khac Thuan, introduced the history of the southern region and the Party and State’s policy on religion and ethnicity.
People from different social strata, religious dignitaries, and practitioners in the southwestern region have lived cohesively for over 300 years and fought together for national independence.
Religious dignitaries and prestigious members of the Khmer community will inform others about the Party and State’s religious policies.
The Steering Committee expects Khmer people in Soc Trang province to reinforce unity with the Kinh and Chinese groups for national growth.
