(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong on Wednesday attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Thai Binh province.

In his address Prime Minister Chinh said that the two sides agreed to build new generation VSIPs towards sustainability, digital transformation, green transformation and application of artificial intelligence, and environmental and social responsibility.
"We want to keep expanding VSIP model from the first generation to the second generation. During my very successful talks with PM Lawrence Wong this morning, both sides agreed to upgrade this industrial park to the second generation, integrating more things. In addition to industry, it integrates science and technology, innovation, commercial and service zones, and urban areas," Mr. Chinh said.
Lawrence Wong said that the two sides will consider different ways to build and develop smarter VSIPs, promote innovation, science and technology; cut costs, be more efficient; be better for the environment, be greener with renewable energy sources and clean electricity.
