(VOVWORLD) - Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his spouse will pay an official visit to Vietnam on Tuesday and Wednesday at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse. Mr. Wong's first visit to Vietnam as Singapore's Prime Minister follows Party General Secretary To Lam’s historic and very successful trip to Singapore early this month, during which Vietnam and Singapore elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Wong’s visit, an important milestone in diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore, creates an opportunity for the two countries to enhance their new partnership.
Determined to boost bilateral ties
The visit reflects the dynamic and growing relationship between the two nations and underscores the determination of both countries' top leaders to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh said: "Leaders of the two countries will build upon discussions from General Secretary To Lam’s recent visit to Singapore, ensuring the effective implementation of the declaration on upgrading ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This visit is expected to yield substantial benefits for both sides."
Although brief, the visit will focus on initiatives of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including the signing of key cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Singapore and the launch of the 18th Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP).
The success of VSIPs in Vietnam is a testament to their robust bilateral economic and investment cooperation.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park on March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said: "The Vietnamese government remains committed to maintaining a stable investment climate, advancing administrative reforms, and improving the legal framework to foster an open and transparent business environment to attract investors, including those from Singapore. We hope that investors will join Vietnam on the path to prosperity and wealth."
