French President Emmanuel Macron and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, who is in Paris for summits on Africa, agreed on the resolution during a video conference with Jordan's King Abdullah II.

The three countries agreed that the shooting must stop; the time has come for a ceasefire; and the UN Security Council must take up the issue. The statement added that the three countries have agreed to launch a humanitarian initiative for the civilian population of Gaza in conjunction with the UN.
On Tuesday, European Union foreign ministers called for a ceasefire and boosted humanitarian aid for Gaza. Except for Hungary, all ministers vowed that the EU will try to relaunch the peace process along with the United States, Russia, and the United Nations.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Tuesday urged the US to shoulder responsibility for the Israel-Palestine conflict and support the UN Security Council in easing the situation, rebuilding trust, and reaching a political settlement.
The US for the 3rd time blocked an attempt at the UNSC to pass a joint resolution condemning both sides for the escalation of violence.
