COVID-19: China reports 14 new cases

(VOVWORLD) - 212 countries and territories around the world had reported more than 4.1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a death toll of more than 280,430 as of 3PM (Vietnam time) on Sunday, according to statistics website Worldometers.

The US is still the hardest hit country with more than 1.3 million infections and 80,000 fatalities, followed by Spain which recorded more than 260,000 infected cases and over 26,000  deaths.

Italy announced a total of 218,268 infections and 30,395 deaths while the UK and Russia had recorded 215,260 and 198, 676 infected cases, respectively.

China reported 14 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Saturday, the highest number since April 28 and up from only one case a day earlier, according to data published on Sunday. Of the new cases, two were imported while the remaining 12 were locally transmitted, including 11 cases in the northeastern province of Jilin and one from Wuhan where the outbreak was first detected late last year.
