COVID-19: Vietnam reports 15,740 cases in total, 3.4 million vaccine doses injected

(VOVWORLD) - From 6 pm on Sunday to 6 am on Monday, Vietnam recorded 97 more domestic COVID-19 cases in 8 localities, of which 94 cases were detected in quarantine or lockdown areas. Ho Chi Minh City had 62 cases.

Vietnam has so far recorded a total of 15,740 COVID-19 patients and cured 6,319 people. 76 people have died.

By Sunday afternoon, Vietnam injected nearly 3.4 million vaccine doses.

According to worldometers.info website, by Sunday the world recorded more than 181.6 million cases of COVID-19, including more than 3.93 million deaths.

In Southeast Asia, Laos on Sunday announced 10 new COVID-19 cases, including 1 community case, after 48 hours without any new cases in the community.

Cambodia recorded 839 more COVID-19 cases and 17 more deaths from the pandemic. Cambodia has recorded a total of 47,649 COVID-19 cases with 540 deaths.

Indonesia confirmed the highest number of new cases per day ever, with 21,342 cases, bringing the total number of cases in this country to more than 2.1 million with more than 57,000 deaths.

In Northeast Asia, South Korea reported 614 new cases, including 570 infections in the community. This is the 5th day in a row that South Korea has recorded more than 600 new infections.
