Cuba’s top legislator begins official visit to Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) -President of the National Assembly of People's Power and President of the Council of State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday morning, beginning his official visit to Vietnam.

During the trip until Sunday at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, he will co-chair the second session of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang; Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes and officials and staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam.
The visit is taking place during the Year of Friendship celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba. This is the fifth time that Mr. Hernández has visited Vietnam in his capacity as President of the National Assembly of Cuba.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long, the trip is not only an annual high-level delegation exchange activity between the two National Assemblies, but also a political-diplomatic event of great influence, contributing to strengthening the special traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
