Da Nang urban administration pilot plan discussed
(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday chaired a meeting on a pilot urban administration plan in Da Nang City.

Phuc underscored the need to reform the local authorities’ operation:“The 2013 revised constitution allows Vietnam to have both urban and rural administrations. The Party Politburo has agreed for Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City to pilot the model. Over the past two years, the two cities have tested the model without a People’s Council at district, commune, and ward level”.
According to the plan, the urban administration of Da Nang City must uphold its key role in the central region. The urban administration apparatus should be designed with management functions and tasks in line with the characteristics and requirements of local resident communities and administrative units.
