Thai Hoa Palace will be 3D scanned and photographed from now until the end of this year. A digital database of the palace that meets both Vietnamese and international standards is set to be completed by June 2026.

Deputy Chief of Office of Hue Monuments Conservation Center Vo Quang Huy said, "Thai Hoa Palace was already scanned once when restoration work was still taking place, so that UALS could better understand its internal structures. They will rescan it after it is put into operation. Both the outside and inside details of the palace were scanned using specialized equipment."

The original Thai Hoa Palace was built in 1805 under King Gia Long at the Grand Palace Gate. In 1833, King Minh Mang reconstructed the palace at its current location. As the official throne hall of the king, the palace hosted royal audiences, major ceremonies, key imperial rituals, and bore witness to the reigns of the 13 kings under the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945).
