According to the draft, an association is a volunteer organization of Vietnamese citizens and legal entities which run for non-profit, unity, and mutual assistance.

Some underlined the need to take into consideration of the revision of the associations’ legal personality.

To ensure the citizens’ right to establish associations and the State’s management over these bodies, it’s necessary to make appropriate changes for the types of associations without legal status.

Deputies called for more detailed provision to ensure the law’s enforcement as the rights to associations is one of the fundamental rights of citizens provided by the Constitution.
