(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, Egypt contracted with two foreign companies to help search for the black boxes of Egypt Air Flight MS804, which crashed on Thursday with 66 passengers and crew members into the Mediterranean Sea.

The two companies, one French and one Italian, will work with a team from Egypt to locate the black boxes.

Egypt’s submarine has been sent to search, and the UK, France, Greece, Cyprus, and the US have joined the search. Body parts, debris, and luggage from the flight have been found.

The black boxes are believed to be lying in up to 4000 meters of water. The Egyptian Navy’s ROV submarine can only dive to a maximum depth of 3,200 meters.
