Egypt’s tension show no signs of declining

Egypt’s National Salvation Front (NSF) on Thursday urged President Mohamed Morsi to hold early presidential elections. The main opposition block in Egypt was confident that millions of Egyptians will flock to the peaceful protests on June 30th, the first-year anniversary of Morsi’s presidency. The protests will call for Morsi’s resignation, while asserting their determination to bring their revolution back on track.  The NSF wants a strong government capable of resolving the economic, security, and social problems in this transitionary period up to holding presidential and parliamentary elections.

Morsi on Wednesday proposed to form an independent committee involving all political forces and parties to amend the constitution and a higher committee in charge of national reconciliation. However, his words were deemed by the opposition to be a "superficial" trivialization of the real problems.
