(VOVWORLD) - 11 EU countries have issued a joint statement calling on the European Union to speed up new climate change policies and also reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels as soon as possible.

The statement was led by Denmark and signed by Austria, Germany, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Latvia, the Netherlands, Sweden and Slovenia.
They share the view that it’s time for EU countries to promote a green road. They underlined that suspension or hesitation would worsen the EU’s dependence on outside energy sources.
