EU sets demands for post Brexit transition

(VOVWORLD) - The European Union has set out its demands for the temporary transition period after the UK leaves in March 2019.

The EU wants the UK to continue to follow its rules but not be involved in making decisions from the Brexit date until 31 December 2020. The UK will not participate in EU institutions and have no right to vote. The UK will have a non-voting seat at some EU meetings to determine matters like annual fishing quotas. The UK will be obliged to accept judgments of the EU Court of Justice and contribute to the EU budget.
