Among the displayed artifacts, a number of items have been exhibited for the first time such as the original Paris Accords, the stamp and nameplates of the Vietnamese delegation, and the pens used to sign the document. Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga addressed the opening ceremony of the exhibition: ‘In the national thousand-year history of Vietnam, the Paris Conference was the longest and tensest.  We hope that visitors to the exhibition can feel the resilience, ingenuity, and firm spirit of the Vietnamese revolutionary diplomats at the negotiating table. They artistically combined military, politics, and diplomacy plus the support and encouragement of peace and justice lovers around the world.

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam, Saadi Salama, was among the attendees at the exhibition. He said ‘I’m moved to see photos exhibited here. The international solidarity that Vietnam gained was closely linked to Vietnam’s national solidarity and its policy in combining diplomacy, politics, and military. The combination brought in a good result for Vietnam to end the war and reestablish peace in the nation. Vietnam’s experiences are precious lessons for us to learn.

The exhibition is part of a series of activities to mark 40 years of the signing of the Paris Peace Accords and will last until next Monday.
