(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s export turnover for the first half of this year has reached 54 billion USD, up 22% from the same period last year. The Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to boost industrial production, increase exports and domestic consumption to lift this year’s export turnover up 13%, which is equivalent to around 109 billion USD.

The Ministry also reported that the industrial production index for the first half of this year increased 4.5%, which is relatively low in comparison with the same period last year but reveals positive improvements over the months. This proves the effectiveness of a number of measures including those to ease difficulties for businesses, reduce tax and lease fees, and support businesses with low interest rates.
