Addressing the award ceremony in Hanoi on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said that Vietnamese women today are growing stronger in every field, asserting their roles and positions, and making immense contributions to national development and defense. Mr. Binh said all levels of government and ministries must treat women’s affairs and gender equality as a central and ongoing political mission.

“It’s necessary to eliminate all barriers and gender bias, ensuring a truly equal environment. It’s also crucial to further improve the legal framework to better protect the rights and legitimate interests of female workers, particularly those in the informal sector,” Mr. Binh added.

"In addition, stronger action should be taken against domestic violence and sexual harassment along with efforts to combat human trafficking and create effective support mechanisms for victims."

The Deputy PM stressed the need to address essential social issues for workers, especially investment in social housing and the establishment of high-quality childcare and kindergartens in industrial zones. These are the key solutions to help women feel secure and confident in dedicating themselves to their work and the nation, he said.
