The film depicts young soldiers, most of them students, whose fervent patriotism led them to volunteer to go to war. Veteran Nguyen Le Thanh, who fought on the southwestern border battlefield, choked up watching the film and remembering his old comrades.
“I found the movie ‘Red Rain’ very interesting, especially the camaraderie. Many of my comrades laid down their lives at that time. I was in the trenches for 25 days and nights, enduring the rain and sun. We shared with each other a piece of dry food, rice balls mixed with red soil. Now that we are living in peace, we must unite to make the country stronger,”
The special screening of the film was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the municipal Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
