First foreign visitors of 2016 welcomed in Vietnam

(VOVworld) – Hanoi welcomed on Friday a French couple as its first foreign visitors of 2016 at Noi Bai Airport. Mr. Buisson Bernard and his wife Florence Bernard had their visas to Vietnam exempted under a preferential policy of the Vietnamese government since last July to encourage foreigners to register for 14-day tours across Vietnam.

On 9:40 am Friday, Da Nang welcomed its first foreign visitors of 2016 onboard a Silk Air flight from Singapore. They were welcomed and presented gifts by representatives of Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and local travel agencies.

At a ceremony to welcome first foreigners to Ho Chi Minh City at Tan Son Nhat Airport on Friday, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, La Quoc Khanh, said: Over the past decade, the city’s tourism sector has always organized activities to welcome its first foreign visitors of the year. This reflects the hospitality of the city and its people towards their foreign guests and makes them feel at home.
