Jointly held by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Temple of Literature, the event promotes play for children’s comprehensive development and advocates policies to support children’s right to play, said Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Temple of Literature.

UNICEF Representative in Vietnam Rana Flowers said she appreciates Vietnam’s contributions to promoting the United Nations’ recently-approved International Day of Play, adding that play is also education and an important part of life.

31 paintings with the theme “Your Dream Playground”, selected from a total of 8,000 paintings sent to UNICEF by children across the country, were on display. The event also offered young children a space to learn and participate in traditional folk games such as shuttlecock, stilt walking, and mini-golf made of recycled materials.
