Following his visit to Britain on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Paris and met President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who also visited France the same day.

President Macron pledged to continue providing arms support to Ukraine, adding that Ukraine can count on France and its European partners and allies.

Chancellor Scholz said that Germany and its partners have supported Ukraine with finance, humanitarian aid and weapons and will continue as long as necessary.

On the same day, Chancellor Scholz said that despite providing military assistance to Ukraine, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) must not become a party to Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.

In a speech to the German lower house of parliament (Bundestag) on Wednesday ahead of a special meeting of the European Council to discuss the conflict, Scholz warned of a public competition to outdo each other along the lines of military equipment because this would harm the unity of the West.

Earlier, during the Ukrainian President’s visit to the UK, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that Britain will support what Ukraine needs.

On Thursday, President Zelensky arrived in Brussels and attended the EU Summit.
