Held every two years on the annual International Francophone Day on March 20, this year’s festival attracted more than 1,000 visitors and nearly 40 booths of Francophone countries and localities.

Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to UNESCO Nguyen Thi Van Anh, said that Vietnam, as an active member of the Francophone Community, is willing to support the ideas of Yèbles city and the Francophone Festival in enhancing cultural diversity and mutual understanding between countries in the group of French speaking countries.

“Throughout the Francophone Weekend events, Vietnamese delegates organized meaningful cultural activities. These activities have introduced  Vietnam, a country located in Southeast Asia, with a population of 100 million people and beautiful landscapes. It has eight world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO plus culture and national identity being preserved over the centuries,” according to Van.

The Vietnamese Cultural Center in France introduced a booth decorated with iconic images of Vietnam, from ao dai (long dress) and conical hats to folk toys for children and tourism promotion brochures.
