The Dictionary defines banh mi as a Vietnamese snack consisting of a baguette (traditionally baked with both rice and wheat flour) filled with a variety of ingredients, typically including pork pâté, meat, pickled vegetables, savory soy sauce, and chilli sauce. Banh mi is a smorgasbord of flavors that represents a true melting pot of cultures and ingredients alike, according to Google’s introduction.

The Vietnamese sandwich has been repeatedly recognized by international culinary experts and media.

The Guardian ranked banh mi at the second position in the list of the best street food in the world while National Geographic voted it as one of 11 most delicious street foods globally. CNN in 2018 called banh mi “the king of sandwiches in the world.”
