Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the Vietnam National Innovation Centre (NIC), said, “Science, technology, and innovation are identified as the driving forces to create a breakthrough for Vietnam’s economic growth. To that end, the most important factor is the development of high-quality human resources for science, technology and innovation.”
“This is also the goal of the digital talent development program jointly organized by Google and NIC. The Google Vietnam’s non-profit program is under the auspices of NIC aimed to help students develop digital skills,” said Huy.
Stephanie Davis, Vice President at Google Asia Pacific, said Google wants to provide digital opportunities for every Vietnamese by supporting the nation's digital transformation.
She noted, “We want to support the government's effort by building a stronger, bigger talent pool and accelerating local startup's growth. So today, together with the Vietnam Innovation Center, we are launching two new programs to do just that. So that's why Google has partnered with the Vietnam Innovation Center and again to build a program for start-up's entrepreneurs to help them take their start-ups to the next level.”
Vietnam's innovation is entering a critical stage of development, requiring much investment to develop start-ups and form a qualified workforce at the international level. As a result, the cooperation between NIC and Google will narrow the digital gap by providing more study and development opportunities for talented Vietnamese people and startups.
