Government streamlined to 14 ministries, 3 ministry-level agencies

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government has been restructured to include 14 ministries and three ministry-level agencies, following two resolutions approved at the National Assembly’s extraordinary session on Tuesday.

Six new ministries were formed through mergers. They are the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Ethnic Minority and Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Finance.

The remaining ministries are the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Health. 

The three ministry-level agencies are the Government Office, the Government Inspectorate, and the State Bank of Vietnam.

The Government leadership consists of 25 members: the Prime Minister, seven Deputy Prime Ministers, 14 Ministers, and three Heads of ministerial-level agencies.
