The event is jointly organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi in response to the movement "For the Poor – Leaving no one behind" for the 2021–2025 period, initiated by the Prime Minister.

It also aims to promote the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance, and create additional resources to support the poor, contributing to the city’s poverty reduction and social welfare goals.

Nguyen Lan Huong, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, said that since the beginning of this year, more than 4 million USD from the Fund for the poor has been allocated to build and repair houses for disadvantaged people. However, more resources are needed to help the poor develop their economy, she said.
