Hanoi to host Vietnam’s first World Culture Festival

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s first-ever Cultures of the World Festival will be held from October 3 - 5 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi.

The event features a wide range of activities including the Hanoi World Culture Day, film screenings, international costume showcases, the Ao Dai Festival, and the International Book Day.

According to the organizers, 48 embassies and international organizations have registered to participate.

The Cultures of the World Festival is a place where the rich and diverse colors of many cultures from across the globe come together, said  Mr. Le Hai Binh, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Countries will gather in Hanoi to showcase their unique cultural expressions and to create a shared tapestry bearing the values of peace, humanity, and friendship, he said, adding “This first-ever event of such scale and significance will allow Vietnamese people and international friends to see Hanoi as a capital of peace, culture, and a meeting place for friends from five continents.”

On this occasion, the organizers launched the official website of the event at: http://Worldculturefestival.vn. The festival is expected to become an annual international cultural diplomacy event in the future.
