This marks the Vietnamese city's highest standing since it first made the semi-annual index compiled by London-based think tank Z/Yen Partners and the China Development Institute in 2022.

Ho Chi Minh City scored 664, up 10 points from March, and was named among the 15 financial centers projected to see strong growth in the next two or three years.

In June, the National Assembly passed a resolution to establish an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang with unified management and promoting the strengths of each locality.

The government aims for the Ho Chi Minh City financial center to begin operations this year.
