Highlights of National Assembly’s seventh Session, Phase I

(VOVWORLD) -Vacant positions were filled during the 17-day gathering of the 15th National Assembly, which closed on Saturday.

The Assembly elected Tran Thanh Man as Chairman of the National Assembly, To Lam as President of Vietnam, and Nguyen Thi Thanh as Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly. Deputies approved the Prime Minister's appointment of Le Thanh Long as Deputy Prime Minister and Luong Tam Quang as Minister of Public Security.

In the first phase of the seventh Session, deputies questioned government members, who showed a sense of responsibility, clear solutions and strong commitment to management and administration. These will be basis for implementing and supervising the execution of policies of the Party and State.

The National Assembly discussed additional assessment of the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in 2023; the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget in the first months of 2024 and many other major issues.

Phase II of the National Assembly’s seventh Session will begin on June 17 and close on June 28.
