(VOVworld) - An exhibition of historical and legal documents asserting Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos will open in the Mekong River city of Can Tho on Thursday.

This is the 22nd exhibition the Ministry of Information and Communication has coordinated with local administrations to organize nationwide.

After each exhibition, the organizing board has tried to supplement new materials and objects to show the public.

On display this time are 100 maps, documents, objects, and pieces of scientific research related to the archipelagos, affirming Vietnam’s indisputable sovereignty over these two territories in the East Sea.

The documents on display prove that Vietnam from feudal times until now discovered, established, and defended their national sovereignty over the archipelagos and other islands in Vietnam’s territorial waters. This is a continuous and long-term process which has been recognized by diverse historical materials published by both Vietnam and other countries.

The exhibition will continue until next Tuesday.
