Ho Chi Minh City’s economy grows 7.07% in 9 months
(VOVWORLD) -Ho Chi Minh City’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) expanded 7.07% in the January-September period, thanks to the GRDP growth of 8.11% in the third quarter of 2025, according to municipal statistics.

Over the past nine months, Ho Chi Minh City's economy maintained a growth momentum. In the third quarter’s GRDP structure, the industrial and construction sector recovered strongly with an increase of 7.74%; the service sector expanded 8.58%, slowing down compared to the peak period in the second quarter but still playing a pivotal role; the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased 3.14%.
The growth structure indicates that services remained the pillar of Ho Chi Minh City's economy with 8.59% growth. Generally, the industrial sector showed a steady recovery after slow growth at the beginning of the year. The industrial production index (IIP) in the first nine months increased 6.9% over the same period. The processing and manufacturing industry grew strongly 10.5%, being the main driver of industrial growth.
