Improving Vietnamese women’s innovations

(VOVworld) – Vietnam Women’s Innovation Day 2013 was observed on Tuesday. The event was a chance for individual and organizations to share and realize ideas towards narrowing the gender gap in economics, labor, and employment as well as facilitating access to economic resources for poor and ethnic women. The organizing board exhibited innovations and initiatives to help Vietnamese women improve their lives and economic empowerment. President of the Vietnam Women’s Union, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, said: “Vietnam Women’s Innovation Day is held with the purpose of encouraging Vietnamese women’s innovation. This event includes an innovation contest and a forum on women’s economic empowerment.”

Director of the World Bank in Vietnam, Victoria Kwakwa, said she hoped these innovations would soon be applied in reality to help women escape from poverty and lead happier lives.
